Group looking for solutions to sediment in Lewis & Clark Lake

SPRINGFIELD, S.D.(WNAX)- A group working on solutions to sediment in Lewis & Clark Lake is making slow progress.

Missouri Sediment Action Coalition Executive Director Scott Kostal of Springfield says they expect to get an update later this month.

The group was formed over twenty years ago to look for solutions to the silting in of the lake behind Gavins Point Dam.

Kostal says more study is needed.

Kostal says they continue to look for funding for their projects.

Without any sediment removal, most of Lewis & Clark Lake could be full of mud by 2050.
