Guffin says Aberdeen Public Schools managing COVID cases well

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Aberdeen Central canceled its weekend football game against Sioux Falls Lincoln because of a variety of COVID, other illness and injury issues.

Becky Guffin, Superintendent of Aberdeen Public Schools, said things are going well so far this school year and that the school’s numbers mirror those of Brown County.

Some schools in the state have gone to a hybrid model while others have gone online for the short term. Guffin said those things are options, but time will tell if they will be needed.

Aberdeen Public Schools currently have about 600 students using the online learning option. Guffin said that things are much different now, however, than they were when the schools were forced to go to complete online learning this past spring.

Guffin also talked about the mask situation at the schools.
