Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University’s sports medicine partner, Sanford Health announced the addition of Janelle Haas to the Wolves team as an assistant athletic trainer. Haas comes to Northern after five years as an assistant athletic trainer at Presentation College.
“The Sanford sports medicine staff looks forward to the addition of Janelle Haas to our team at NSU,” said Head Athletic Trainer Shannon Curtin. “She brings years of experience and knowledge and will be a great addition to our staff and to our athletes!”
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Sanford Sports Medicine team at NSU,” explained Hass. “I am excited to be part of an athletic department with strong community ties and I look forward to working with our student-athletes. I’d like to thank Shannon Curtin and the rest of the athletic training staff for welcoming me to the team!”
At Presentation College, Haas worked directly with the volleyball, men’s basketball, and baseball programs. In addition, she served as the clinical preceptor for athletic training students in the PC Athletic Training Program, assisted with practicum testing, and was the athletics representative on the Campus Assessment, Evaluation, and Response team.
Haas opened her career in athletic training as a student at the University of North Dakota. She completed rotations and provided coverage for eight NCAA Division I programs while earning her bachelor’s degree. Haas then served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the Orthopedic Institute and South Dakota State in Brookings.
Haas is a BOC Certified athletic trainer and licensed through the State of South Dakota. She is also a member of the American Heart Association, National Athletic Trainers Association, Mid-America Athletic Trainers Association, and the South Dakota Athletic Trainers Association.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of North Dakota. Haas resides in Aberdeen with her husband, Matthew.
