ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- The Haunted Forest is set for Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22. Wylie Park and Storybook Land will be filled with scares more thrilling and chilling than ever before and will feature “The Black Hole”. The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and the Aberdeen Optimist Club cosponsor this traditional Halloween event, with special assistance provided by Aberdeen Central Drama Club.
Evening performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 21 and 22, with no tickets being sold after 10:30 p.m. The afternoon matinee on Saturday, October 22 will begin at 1:00 p.m., with no tickets being sold after 3:00 p.m. The matinee will feature trick or treating with the Haunted Forest Creatures. Children are encouraged to come in costume and begin their Halloween trick or treating at the Haunted Forest. Evening performances are too scary and not recommended for younger children. Strollers are not allowed during evening shows. Also, people are encouraged to use the main Wylie Park entrance, north of Wylie Lake and use the beach parking lot for drop off and pick up, as well as for parking.
Tickets for the Haunted Forest are $15.00 for evening performances and $5.00 for the Saturday matinee and can be purchased with cash or check only. Tickets are available at the Wylie Park Pavilion, and the event will begin there. Advance tickets are being sold through Friday, October 21 at the Parks & Recreation offices, Kamerud Chiropractic, Area Federal Credit Union, and Dacotah Bank.
