HAYTI, S.D.(KXLG)- Hamlin County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest last night after a female Hayti resident called 911 around 1:06 a.m. this morning to the Watertown Regional Dispatch Center requesting help and that an unwanted visitor was at her residence.

While deputies were en route, Dispatch lost connection with the caller.

Once the deputies located the female caller at the home. Through further investigation at the scene, it appeared an assault had occurred.

The Lake Norden Ambulance was dispatched to the scene as a precautionary measure.

A 38-year-old Hayti man, Feliciano Rodriguez, was arrested for Simple Assault (Domestic) and is currently held at the Codington County Detention Center.

Child Protection Services were dispatched to the scene as a small child was at home during the assault.

Alcohol was involved, and the incident remains under investigation by the Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office.
