YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Front line health care workers were first in line as Covid-19 vaccinations began last week.

Liz Healy, Infection Prevention Coordinator for Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says they are following the state plan.

Healy says they will work to distribute the vaccines to other health and long term care providers.

Healy says they are setting up the guidelines to get the most efficient use of the vaccine.

Healy says their guidance says they will have vaccines available for public distribution by next spring.
