Health officials keeping an eye on recent surge

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – While varying from day to day, the longer-term trend for coronavirus infections in South Dakota is rising.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says they have been tracking that.

Clayton says it’s most evident in one location and a certain age group.

Health Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says few of the positive cases are in hospitals.
