YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While not seen as a pandemic type of infection, health care professionals are keeping an eye on monkey pox.

Liz Healy, infection control specialist at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton says they have had some briefings on the disease.

Healy says monkey pox is easier to track than Covid-19.

Healy says there are treatments available.

Healy says good personal hygiene is important in stopping the spread of any infectious disease.
