Health Secretary praises partnership with Aberdeen during pandemic

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – Brown County has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases lately and a majority of those cases are connected to the DemKota Ranch Beef Plant.

Brown County currently has 127 confirmed cases with 76 of those association with the beef plant.

During the governor’s press conference on Monday, Department of Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon talked about the practices that have taken place at the Aberdeen facility.

She noted that there has been a great spirit of cooperation to help the situation.

Malsam-Rysdon said Aberdeen is a good example of how cities and the state can work together to help fight the current pandemic.

Brown County also has 778 negative cases and 49 recoveries.

The state reported 97 new confirmed cases on Monday, 587 new negative cases and 40 new recoveries.
