Brandon Valley Invite w/ Aberdeen Central [@ Brandon GC]

At the Brandon Invite on Monday down south, the Aberdeen Central boys golf squad kicked off their fall campaign. Although there were no team scores, many Golden Eagles competed in the event & they’ll even be back in action today down in Sioux Falls at Bakker Crossing. After the first day of competition, Tate Mauney of O’Gorman leads the field, shooting a three under par for the day. Carter Peterson of Brandon Valley shot an even par, as did Luke Olson of Pierre, they’re both tied for second place. Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell & Hayden Scott of Harrisburg both shot one over par, good for a fourth place tie. For the Golden Eagles, the best finish was Jackson Ravellette, he carded a 16-over par, that would put him in 51st place. Central’s Peyton Brust sits in 60th, but he had a solid finish to his round. On the final four holes, Brust carded a trifecta of birdies to put him tied for 60th place. Carter Blanchard, Quincy Madsen & Cole Brust, all Central teammates find themselves in a three way tie for 71st at 20 over par.

Sioux Valley Invite w/ Multiple NEC Schools

The Sioux Valley invite was held on Monday afternoon with an abundance of NEC schools battling for early season supremacy. The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers finished in second place for the event, six shots back of first place Flandreau. Sioux Valley finished collectively in third as a team + Groton, Milbank and Redfield rounded out the top six teams. Individually, Brenin Flichs of Groton was the medalist, carding a 76 for the day. Kaden Burshiem from Flandreau was one shot behind him, finishing in second. Aberdeen Roncalli’s Finn Anderson placed 5th, he was six shots back of first place with an 82 for the day.
