SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- The multi-county police chase that occurred Thursday began as a shoplifting investigation at a Sioux Falls business.

As an officer was following the suspect to her vehicle as she retrieved her ID, the situation quickly became dangerous.

Officer Sam Clemens:

The officer was still holding onto the vehicle as it went in circles in the parking lot.

The two suspects then took off at a high rate of speed down Interstate 29 with several law enforcement agencies quickly catching up.

The chase eventually made its way all the way down to Yankton County before their vehicle was disabled and the pair was arrested.

31-year old Evette Veo and 26-year old Alicia Abdo face numerous charges and were promptly returned to Minnehaha County.
