VERMILLION, S.D. (WNAX) – The SB55 task force will meet on campus at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion on Thursday. The task force was created by this year’s legislature to study the state’s public higher education system and come up with recommendations.
USD President Sheila Gestring, a member of the task force, says its an opportunity for the universities to better explain their mission.
Gestring says she isn’t worried that the task force is looking to cut anything.
Gestring says USD has already had a focus on keeping higher education affordable.
The task force will meet Thursday morning in the ballroom at the Muenster (munster) University Center.
