YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Space for acute care of medical issues continues to be a problem.

Doug Ekeren, President of Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says they take care of more than Covid-19 patients.

Ekeren says they, like many employers, struggle to keep enough workers.

Ekeren says their numbers haven’t varied much over the past few months.

Ekeren says Covid-19 patients typically have longer stays in the hospital, especially those that have been in the ICU.
