YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Hospitals across the state are again dealing with a surge in Covid-19 patients.

Dr David Erickson, Chief Medical and Innovation Officer at Avera Health, says they are back to weekly conference calls.

Erickson says they expect a smaller peak than last fall.

The state Department of Health is now reporting over seven thousand active cases.
