YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- While Covid-19 hospitalization numbers are decreasing, the need for blood continues.

Danielle West with Lifeserve Blood Center says winter is a slow time for donations anyway.

West says they hear from hospitals everyday.

West says the blood donations are used for a number of medical needs.

Lifeserve has also become the sole supplier of blood to nine Avera Health hospitals.
