PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday, South Dakota House Commerce & Energy Committee dealt with HB1190. This bill establish public use criteria for purposes of condemnation proceedings.
The bill’s prime sponsor was Scott Odenbach of Spearfish.
Odenbach emphasize that eminent domain shouldn’t be used for economic gains.

The committee fail to pass the bill on a 4-7 vote. The committee voted 8-3 to move to the 41st day effectively killing the bill.
