PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The South Dakota House Commerce & Energy Committee on Monday heard testimony on HB1185.  The bill amend provisions regarding entry on private property for examination and survey of a project requiring a siting permit.

Prime sponsor of the bill was the House Majority Leader Will Mortenson of Pierre.

Mortenson talks about compensation for the landowner to allow for surveying.

Justin Bell, lobbyist for Summit Carbon Solutions inform the committee that compensation for surveying has never been done before.

Bell dispute the claims landowners were never received notice of surveying in advance.

The committee approved the bill on a 10-1 vote.
