House Majority Leader says most of Governor’s priorities match up

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Governor Kristi Noem delivered her State of the State speech to the South Dakota legislature Tuesday which officially kicks off the 2021 session.

House Majority Leader Kent Peterson of Salem says many of the Governors priorities match theirs.

The Governor wants $100 million over the next few years to expand broadband across the state. Peterson says they need more details.

 

The Governor wants Down Syndrome added to the list of restrictions on abortions. Peterson says the caucus will support that.

Peterson will lead a republican caucus of 62 in the seventy member House.
