PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- When South Dakota legislators return to Pierre Monday for the final day of the 2022 session, the House Select Committee on Investigation will meet again to talk about the possible impeachment of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.
Committee Chairman, House Speaker Spencer Gosch sent a letter to Governor Kristi Noem, asking her to “cease and desist” from interfering with the committee’s work. She has been critical of the committee’s process and continues to push for the Attorney Generals impeachment.
Committee member, Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says all of that is in the background.
Cwach says they will meet Monday afternoon to go over their report.
Cwach says the report probably won’t change many minds.
Committee member, Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton, says they will release their report and possible recommendations.
Stevens says they will give some direction to members of the House.
Governor Kristi Noem and other members of her administration have been pressuring the committee to impeach the Attorney General.
Stevens says they have ignored that interference.
Stevens says he has made a decision on impeachment but would not say how he will vote.
The House is scheduled to return on April 12th to take final action on impeachment.
