YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- A number of bills and resolutions have been pre filed ahead of the South Dakota legislative session.

Among them is House Concurrent Resolution 6001 that calls for a study of ways to keep kids 16 and older in school until graduation.

District 18 Representative Mike Stevens of Yankton is a co-sponsor.

Stevens says there are some models that work.

Stevens says they need to work with experts in a number of fields.

There will be a number of bills introduced this year that originated from the summer study of juvenile justice and mental health.
