PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota House Taxation Committee got an update from the state Revenue Department last week.
During that, there were questions about sports betting, which was approved by voters last November.
State Gaming Commission Secretary Susan Christian says they have one bill so far.
Christian says the bill follows state gaming guidelines.
Christian says their role is to protect the citizens and promote the gaming.
Sports betting will be centered on Deadwood, at least at the start. The betting will become legal on July 1.
