ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – The Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Hoven as the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. He will begin his new role on Monday, Nov. 25.

Hoven has served as Park Superintendent for the department since 1982 and prior to that served as Manager of Riverside Cemetery for three years. He brings a wealth of Management experience and knowledge to the position and has done an outstanding job in his role as Park Superintendent. Hoven graduated from South Dakota State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Since degree in Park Management.

Doug Johnson is currently serving as the Director and will be retiring on Nov. 22.
