ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – Wednesday during “The Sports Hub” on Fox Sports Aberdeen 1420AM, the manager of the Aberdeen Smittys, Brandon Kusler joined David Tukesbrey to talk about this last weekend and the state of the program.
It may be hard to believe, but the regional playoffs begins next week. Kusler says the season has flown by.
When you get into the grind of the legion baseball season, naturally there’s going to be some injuries. Right now the Smittys are dealing with a slew of nicks and bruises. Kusler says guys’ have stepped up.
Over this last weekend, the Smittys went 2-3 in the Gopher Classic in the Twin Cities. Coach Kusler talked about the first win of the weekend.
If there’s a word that captures the Smittys 2023 year, it’d be ‘resiliency.’ Coach Kusler credits his guys for always finding a way to respond.
One man that’s stepped up in the wake of many injuries for the Smittys has been Brendan Livermont. Coach talks about his rise in the second half of the season.
Thursday marks the Smittys senior day; Kusler reflects on his senior class and talks about what they mean to him as players, and people.
