PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Hughes County, like counties across the state are holding their first post-election audits in the wake of the June 4th primary election. Hughes County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva says their inaugural audit went well.
Oliva says the audit showed that tabulating machines were accurate and doing their job.
Oliva says they have a good idea on what to expect with larger voter turn-outs in November for the general election.
While the post-election audit was open to the public, Oliva says no citizens arrived to observe the process. The audit was held in the third floor large courtroom at the Hughes County Courthouse.
