PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The Hughes County Commission got good news regarding the North Bend Wind Farm on the Hughes/Hyde County border. County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva says the first revenue from the farm has been received by the county.
Commission Chair Tom Rounds was curious about how the wind farm determines what revenue the county gets.
County Manager Lori Jacobson says wind farm officials are ready to start post construction inspections of county roads around the site.
A temporary substation has been installed to get the power on to the grid. A permanent substation should be finished by October. Jacobson says she also learned that power generated from the North Bend Wind Farm will be use in South Dakota and not delivered out of state.
