FORT PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – For her work both in and out of the courtroom, Hughes County States Attorney Roxanne Hammond was given special recognition last week by her fellow prosecutors.

Hammond was nominated for Prosecutor of the Year by Pennington County State’s Attorney Mark Vargo.

Hammond says it’s flattering to be not only nominated for the award, but to have won after having been state’s attorney for only two and a half years.

The Prosecutor of the Year award is given out for work and accomplishments made in the most previous year.
