YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem delivered her 2022 budget proposal to a joint meeting of the legislature in Pierre Tuesday.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, who will Chair the Senate Appropriations Committee next year, says she wants to see and hear more details.

Hunhoff says some of the ideas have been discussed by legislators for a few months.

Hunhoff says there could be some disagreements on the uses of the one time dollars.

General fund spending will total about $1.8 billion.

Lawmakers will blend the Governor’s ideas into the final budget they pass at the end of the 2021 session.
