PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Sales of hunting and fishing licenses in South Dakota have taken a significant drop over the last few years.

Heather Villa, wildlife administration chief for the Game, Fish and Parks Department reported the trends to the G, F & P Board at their meeting last week in Pierre.

Villa says last year had a pretty big financial dip.

Department Secretary Kelly Heppler says it is a problem.

Heppler says it will take cooperation among a number of state agencies to bring those numbers back.
