Huron set to host its first state soccer finals

HURON, S.D. (KOKK) – The Huron School District will host the state soccer finals for the first time on Saturday at Tiger Stadium. Girls and boys champions will be crowned in Class A and AA.

Huron Activities Director Terry Rotert says hosting state soccer was part of the district master plan when turf was installed at Tiger Stadium in 2016.

Rotert says hosting an event for the first time takes some extra effort.

State soccer is the first of three state events Huron will host this school year. Class B volleyball will return to the Arena next Month, and Class B girls basketball is returning next March.
