SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Most area farmers are waiting for warmer weather to begin spring planting…but they won’t wait long.
Price hikes for fertilizer have some adjusting the crops they’ll plant.
Some farmers could consider going without fertilizer…but South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says for others, that isn’t an option.
Some say higher commodity prices will offset the fertilizer price increases.
With widespread drought conditions, most are hoping for a good shot of rain.
