YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Paddlefish snagging season starts Tuesday and anglers who flock to the Missouri River below Gavins Point Dam are being advised to take extra safety precautions.
Karla Zeutenhorst with the Corps of Engineers says there will be very high water on the river below the dam.
Zeutenhorst says boats are restricted from coming too close to the dam.
Zeutenhorst says they are asking anglers on the shore to be extra careful, too.
Zeutenhorst says conservation officers will be monitoring the river and there will be zero tolerance for any boat moving upstream of the restriction signs.
