PLATTE, S.D. (WNAX) – The Industrial Hemp Study Committee of the South Dakota legislature holds its second meeting of the interim Monday.
Committee Chairman, Representative Lee Qualm of Platte says he has a goal in mind.
Qualm says they are also waiting for federal rules on hemp production.
Qualm says they keep hearing about the potential in hemp production.
The committee will hear from representatives of the Montana and North Dakota Departments of Agriculture along with the South Dakota Ag department and the Department of Public Safety.
The Committee meets at 12 noon Monday in Pierre.
