SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – Members of the South Dakota Farm Bureau are holding their 102nd annual convention in Sioux Falls this week. President Scott VanderWal says one of the key issues they’ll be talking about is industrial hemp.
He says another critical conversation they will have is on livestock zoning in South Dakota and what needs to be done to improve that process.
VanderWal says many of their members have been challenged this year by adverse and overly wet weather. He says American Farm Bureau’s water policy specialist Don Parrish will be talking to the group about those issues along with a pair of meteorologists.
Convention goers will also be updated on ag technology and the members will iron out their policy for the coming year. Elections will also be held including that for President. VanderWal says he’s running again. The convention is Friday and Saturday.
