Influenza activity increases across South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D. (KWAT) — Influenza activity continues to rise across South Dakota according to Dr. Joshua Clayton of the State Health Department.

Clayton says the majority of the flu cases being seen are the Influenza-B strain.

Flu cases are likely to reach their peak next month.

Clayton says the zero flu-related deaths in South Dakota is not likely to hold through the winter.

Dr. Clayton says there have been no reports of vaccine shortages.
