YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Interim Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature meets Wednesday as part of the run up to next week’s special session.
Committee member, Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says they have been going through details of the Governor’s spending plan.
The state got about $1.2 billion in federal aid to deal with the impacts of the pandemic.
Hunhoff says they have some tight guidelines.
Other sub committees including ag & natural resources, commerce & energy, education, health & human services, and local government will also have spending recommendations.
Hunhoff says they will work through those details, too.
Hunhoff says if they can agree on those spending issues the special session could be a short one.
