YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – International travel writer Rick Steves has long association with legalized marijuana in his home state of Washington and is now working with marijuana supporters in South Dakota.

Voters next month will decide on ballot issues that would legalize medicinal marijuana and recreational marijuana.

Steves says marijuana use did not explode once it was legalized in Washington state.

Steves says his state has seen tax benefits from legalized marijuana.

Law enforcement and some business groups oppose legalization because of cost and workforce worries.
