RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The Rapid City Fire Department has a new face, and voice, taking the helm as public information officer, Rapid City native Tessa Jaeger.
Jaeger has a background in journalism, having worked at local outlet KEVN Black Hills Fox as a reporter, saying she wanted to get into this line of work for some time.
Jaeger describes RCFD as her “dream job.”
Outgoing PIO Jim Bussell said he had gotten a sense of Jaeger’s qualifications during her time at KEVN.
Jaeger has said this week has been packed, meeting key figures with RCFD and attending events.
Jaeger will be heard weekly during KOTA radio focus segments Tuesday mornings, as well as working as the general spokesperson for RCFD.
