YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Board of Directors of the James River Water Development District will meet this week in Yankton.
Board Chairman Dan Klimisch of Yankton says they will hear about another unwelcome species that may be spreading in the river.
Most of the James River has been over flood stage since March. Klimisch says a tree removal program years ago has seen some benefits.
Klimisch says they are working with counties and drainage districts on smaller erosion prevention programs.
The board meets Thursday at the Kelly Inn in Yankton.
