YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- The James River Water Development District was awarded five million dollars in federal ARPA funds by the state Department of Ag & Natural Resources.
James River District Manager Dave Bartel says they have a lot of plans in place.
Bartel says there is a big need to get water to livestock operations.
Bartel says buffer strips of grass along side the river and creeks helps keep contamination out of the river.
Bartel says the grant dollars can be used in the entire James River Watershed from North Dakota to Nebraska.
