Jennifer Slaight-Hansen talks about her role as chair of the South Dakota Democrats

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota democrats, meeting in Oacoma last weekend, voted to elevate their party vice chair, Jennifer Slaight -Hansen to head the party for the next two years.

Slaight-Hansen says it was a natural progression for her.

Slaight-Hansen says she is doing this for her two kids, who are in college.

Slaight-Hansen says retiring Chair Randy Seiler (sigh-ler) is leaving the party in good financial condition.

She says her priorities are increasing voter registration, candidate recruitment and fundraising.
