PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- One man was knocked unconscious when one jet ski accidentally hit another Wednesday around 6:30pm CT at LaFromboise Island at Pierre.

Volunteer Fire Department Chief Ian Paul says the incident happened at the far east end of the Island on the main Missouri River channel.

Paul says the one jet skier drove into the water after the injured one.

Both jet ski operators were wearing life jackets. Their names have not been released.

Also assisting with the water rescue were the South Dakota Game Fish & Parks Department, Hughes County Sheriff’s Office and South Dakota Central Communications Dispatch Center.
