Johnson does not like deadline deal making

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The federal government must raise the debt limit, or programs could lose funding. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said that limit could be hit in early September, before lawmakers return from their August break.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says he doesn’t like the deadline deal making.

Johnson says it all comes back to spending too much.

Johnson says Congress has been too distracted by other issues to get much work done on a budget, which may mean another continuing resolution will be needed at the end of September.

The current debt ceiling is about $22 trillion.
