ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – Northern State University will host its annual beginning-of-the-year art exhibition at Gallery X, located in the Johnson Fine Arts Center, on Friday, Sept. 6. The event, which precedes the faculty music recital, is free and open to the public.
The exhibition will feature a variety of artwork created by students at various stages of their art careers, with a special focus on upcoming graduating seniors. For some participants, this will be their first art show beyond high school, while others will use this exhibition as a significant addition to their résumés. Several pieces of art will be available for purchase, offering attendees a chance to support these emerging artists directly.
In addition to the visual art on display, the event will include a special screening of award-winning films by John Schwab. Schwab’s films have garnered acclaim, and this screening will offer a unique opportunity for the community to experience his work.
As part of the evening’s festivities, the closing reception for “Midwest Nice; 02” will take place in the main gallery. This exhibition features more than 50 pieces from artists across the country and is the second national call from Northern State University’s collaboration with Midwest Nice Art.
The event promises to be an engaging and enriching experience, complete with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.
