Johnson hearing optimism on trade talks

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – U.S. and Chinese trade negotiators wrapped up what are being described as “constructive” talks in Beijing last week and will resume talks in Washington this week.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says he is hearing some optimism from Administration officials.

Johnson says even if a deal is worked out it doesn’t mean ag exports to China will reach previous levels.

Johnson says he has confidence in the President and trade negotiators to reach good deals.

The USMCA trade deal is being held up due to continued tariffs on steel and aluminum.
