WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson has introduced a bill he calls the “FASTER Act”, or “Furthering American Security by Tempering Environmental Regulations.”
The bill would allow faster construction of the Mexican border wall by waiving some environmental rules.
Johnson says despite his vote against the President’s emergency declaration, he does want to see stronger security on the border.
Johnson says he also supports strong environmental laws.
Johnson says these type of decisions should be handled by Congress.
Johnson says he believes the Act would “allow the wall to be built more quickly without regulations standing in the way.”
