WASHINGTON, D.C. (HubCityRadio.com) – South Dakota will celebrate the Fourth of July this year in grand style.
In addition to a return of fireworks at Mount Rushmore, the monument will be getting a visit from President Donald Trump on Friday, July 3.
U.S. Congressman Dusty Johnson is excited about the event.
Protests throughout the country have resulted in various landmarks being targeted and there has been talk of similar fate with Mount Rushmore. Johnson has introduced legislation to prevent that from happening.
Johnson is pleased with South Dakota’s low COVID-19 numbers compared with the rest of the nation, but said people still need to be responsible in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
