WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – About 140 Republican Congressman have said they will object to the certification of electoral votes for President-elect Joe Biden on Wednesday.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says he is not surprised.

The Mayor of Washington has warned residents to avoid the Capitol Hill area during the vote because of possible demonstrations. Johnson says those are not unusual in that area.

Johnson says the demonstrations have to stay peaceful.

Johnson was sworn in to his second term as the state’s lone House member Sunday.
