WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says he understands why his fellow Republicans are upset with the impeachment inquiry going on behind closed doors in the Capitol. He says these hearings are being handled differently than impeachment proceedings against Presidents Nixon and Clinton.

Johnson says he has asked to be included in the inquiry process.

About two dozen republican Members stopped the hearing when they forced their way into the closed chambers. Johnson says he shares their concerns.

The committees hearing the witnesses have both Democratic and Republican members.
