Johnson says ratifying USMCA could spur economy

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The Trump Administration had floated the idea of another round of tax cuts to get ahead of a possible slowdown in the economy.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says Congress could take another step, not involving taxes, to spur the economy.

The federal deficit is approaching one trillion dollars, up 27 percent over last year.

Johnson says he has made votes to try to get a handle on federal spending.

Members of Congress return to Washington after Labor Day and will have about three weeks to come up with a budget agreement.
