MADISON, S.D. (KJAM) – Congressman Dusty Johnson spent some time in Madison on Monday afternoon looking at the damage that has been left behind by flooding throughout the community. Johnson, accompanied by state Representative Marli Wiese (WEE-zee), toured different parts of the city and visited with some residents who were busy continuing to clean out their flood damaged
property.
Johnson visited the Emergency Operations Center set up in the Madison City Commission room Monday afternoon before heading out on a tour of the damage and visiting with a couple of homeowners in the northwest area of the city. Johnson also stopped by the Gehl Manitou facility to check on their flood clean up efforts, and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Johnson said that he will take back what he has seen and learned to Washington.
Johnson said he was impressed by the amount of support that Madison and Lake County residents have provided to each other in the wake of this flooding disaster.
